This page explains how you can request the deletion of personal information associated with your interactions with MOW, including information processed through Instagram messaging and MOW Iris.
HOW TO REQUEST DATA DELETION
You may request deletion of personal information associated with your interactions with MOW at any time.
- Open Instagram and go to the official MOW account: @mow.mex.
- Send us a direct message from the Instagram account associated with the information you want deleted.
- Include the words DATA DELETION REQUEST in your message.
- Tell us that you want personal information associated with your MOW conversation or inquiry to be deleted.
Send the request from the same Instagram account that previously contacted MOW. This helps us identify the correct conversation and reduces the amount of additional information needed for verification.
WHAT TO INCLUDE
To help us locate the appropriate information, your request should include enough information for us to identify the relevant interaction.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include:
- Your Instagram username.
- The approximate date of your conversation with MOW.
- Your name, if you previously provided it to us.
- A brief description of the interaction or inquiry.
Please do not send passwords, financial information or other sensitive credentials as part of a deletion request.
IDENTITY VERIFICATION
Before deleting personal information, we may need to verify that the request relates to the person making it.
When the request is sent from the same Instagram account that originally contacted MOW, that account may help us verify the request.
If additional verification is reasonably necessary, we may request limited information needed to confirm the identity of the requester and locate the relevant records.
WHAT MAY BE DELETED
After a valid request has been identified and verified, we will review personal information associated with the relevant MOW interaction.
Depending on the systems involved, this may include:
- Conversation information stored by MOW.
- Contact information voluntarily provided during an inquiry.
- Information associated with a prospective client record.
- Internal conversation context created in connection with the inquiry.
- Other personal information retained specifically in connection with the interaction.
Information may be deleted, anonymized or otherwise removed from active operational systems as appropriate.
INFORMATION WE MAY NEED TO RETAIN
In some circumstances, certain information may need to be retained when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, contractual obligations, accounting requirements, security requirements, dispute resolution or other legitimate operational obligations.
Where possible, information that must be retained will be limited to what is necessary for the relevant purpose.
COMPLETION OF YOUR REQUEST
Once the deletion request has been processed, MOW may confirm completion through the same communication channel used to submit the request.
Processing time may vary depending on the information involved, the systems where it is stored and any legal or operational requirements that apply.
THIRD-PARTY PLATFORM DATA
MOW uses third-party platforms and technology providers to operate certain digital services.
A request submitted to MOW applies to personal information controlled or maintained by MOW. Information independently retained by Instagram, Meta or another third-party platform may be subject to that provider's own privacy and deletion procedures.
